What is a G Body?

With Box Chevy and G-body News we aim to give you real information from people actually in this form of car customizing. 

A G-Body is a General Motors model body letter designation.  The G-Body was started in 1978 and went to 1988.  The designation was used across almost all of GMs medium sized cars in that time frame. The list of G-body platform is as follows

• Chevrolet Monte Carlo (1978-1988)
• Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS (1986-1987)
• Chevrolet Monte Carlo CL (1981-1985)
• Chevrolet Monte Carlo Aero Coupe (1986-1987)
• Chevrolet Malibu (1978-1983)
• Chevrolet El Camino (1978-1987)
• Chevrolet El Camino "Choo Choo" (1983-1987)
• Buick Regal (1978-1987)
• Buick Grand National (1982-1987)
• Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (1978-1987)
• Oldsmobile 442 (1985-1987)
• Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds (1983-1984)
• Pontiac Grand Prix (1978-1987)
• Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 (1986)
